School is out for the summer.

Have decided to renovate the family.

Step one, timed fifteen minute chore blitzes together.  All work.  All finish.  Make it a habit.
Step two, letterboxing!  Lowtech version of the GPS thing Marsh and John are thinking of doing.  It's also a tad more artsy.
Step three, more walking.

That's it.  I think those things will spiff us up a little.

Talent show

The girls produced a classic talent show last night after dinner.  Signs tacked on the walls with date and time and lots of exclamation points, costumes (ratty), and lots of enthusiasm.  The show opened with a dramatic announcement of the acts to follow by Nora, dressed head to toe in black with a flowing fluttery scarf tied around her neck.  She looked very french.  March, dressed in  an undershirt pulled over a skirt that she had pulled up so the waist would reach her chest and a burger king crown, stood off to the side with a bunny finger puppet, throwing her voice and saying the exact words as Nora half a beat behind her.  "Announcing mnnncing the greatest talent show mlntshow ever!!!"  This was really funny.  March was holding her mouth really funny and off to the side and Nor was being a good sport and sort of laughing but also trying to follow the script.

First act-- March did cartwheels!
Second act-- Nora sang the fifty states alphabetically and in their entirety!
Third act-- Nora played the harmonica and March danced like a chicken!

Then, because I refused to be the judge and declare a winner, March declared the winner to be Nora and placed the crown on her head along with some mardi gras beads.  It was very heartwarming.  But not in a bad movie way.
